cede is an advanced work for orchestra.
Instrumentation:
2 Flutes, 2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets in B-Flat, 1 Bass Clarinet in B-Flat, 2 Bassoons, 1 Contrabassoon
4 Horns in F, 3 Trumpets in B-Flat, 2 Trombones, 1 Tuba
Piano, Strings, 3 Percussion
Duration: Seven minutes and thirty seconds
About the piece: I've always been fascinated with our human ability (or really superpower) to go through a traumatic or life-altering experience and plan to process it at a later date and time, rather than realizing it in the given moment. Sometimes unfortunate events can cause people, including myself, to essentially schedule "letting it go" for later.
The term cede, militaristic in nature, describes that ability to give up in such a formal way. Just as nations have fought and ceded control in battle, we cede control over our own experiences and memories.
Upon purchase, you will receive a folder with a concert score, transposed score and file containing all parts.
