thump! is an advanced work for saxophone quartet.

About the piece: thump! is inspired by one of my greatest creative influences, Giorgio Moroder.
The work seeks to place four humans in a sound world that blends synthesized sequences and classical features into an all-consuming effort to stay on There’s a certain energy that comes from the electronic disco hits of the 70’s- a glow that feels so mechanical yet so human in a weird way. Giorgio was a pioneer of this sound, creating a feeling of robotic virtuosity and groove that would later inspire artists such as Nile Rodgers and Daft Punk.
